Frozen shoulder
Medically known as adhesive capsulitis, frozen shoulder is a severely restricted and chronically painful shoulder that either suddenly arises, or, most commonly, has a slow, insidious, onset and progresses over time, with no obvious trigger. It is associated with fibrotic thickening and adhesions of the shoulder joint capsule, usually at the front of the shoulder. Overloading the shoulder capsule can occur in a number of ways but often involves the biceps and/or the supraspinatus muscles.
